About Socho
Socho lies west of the Valley of Elah and the River Sentience, a lowland of hedges shaded by Elah Trees fifty-five feet tall, their red berries a symbol of sins forgiven. Its Fortress holds the high ground in the northeast. Socho is a city ahead of its time: a watermill grinds the crop, an armory is rumored to hold a thousand crates of shields, and a Square Table seats a monarch alongside three elected Heads of War, Thought and Law. At the northwest tip, the waterfall of God's Fall carries heroes into the afterlife without ever touching ground.
Queen Maya rules alone. Her husband, King Aziel, vanished after the War of Light and Dark, and the man who was his Chief of War tried to take her throne. The Square Table needs new blood: an eighteen-year-old Chief of War, a ten-year-old Chief of Thought, and an empty chair waiting for someone brave enough to sit in it. Beyond the walls, villages like Havengard, Dwear and the dry city of Quate have their own ideas about who should lead.
