About Cape Guard

Cape Guard is a fortified peninsula on the eastern edge of Adamah, dry grassland and a chain of volcanoes crowned by Mt. Bental and the Green Mountains. Guard's Strait, a man-made channel, cuts it off from Ophir like a moat, so every ship must pass through its ports. Its Guardians wear black armor forged from volcanic ash, and its fleet, the Red Sea, rules the water from the busy northern port of Ho Pater. Every three years the riches of Ophir arrive by ship, and Cape Guard grows fatter on them.

King Jedidiah rules from the Temple of the Cape, where a curtain hides an altar for sacrifice. He teaches religion according to his moods, favoring Magni, Dionysus and a sea dragon he calls Leviathan. He keeps a seven-sided house on the volcano and brings exactly seven women there at a time. His right hand, the goldsmith-priest Malchijah, built the strait and runs the spies. Betharaba refused to trade with him once, and Betharaba is now dust.
